Archaeological Conference "Recent Archaeological Research in Greece"

 

AIGEAS non profit company, in collaboration with the Acropolis Museum, is organizing a Scientific Conference titled "Recent Archaeological Research in Greece", which will take place on 6 and 7 March 2026 at the "Dimitrios Pantermalis" Auditorium of the Acropolis Museum. The Conference is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.

The aim of the Conference is to present and disseminate to both the scientific community and the general public the archaeological research projects that have been supported by AIGEAS over the past twenty years.

Fifty one (51) papers will be presented, focusing on excavation projects, research programs, studies of archaeological material, as well as conservation and restoration projects of monuments. These works are carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Greek Universities, and Archaeological Institutes.

The presentations cover a wide chronological range, from the Paleolithic period to the Byzantine era, and concern research conducted in many regions of Greece, such as Attica, Euboea, the Saronic Gulf, the Cyclades, the Peloponnese, Epirus, Macedonia, the Northeastern Aegean, the Dodecanese, and Crete.

Admission to the conference is free and open to the public.

The conference will be held in Greek. Simultaneous interpretation into English will be provided throughout the conference.
